Presented by Catalyst Culture Labs and the Creative Hive:

Three days of music and co-creation with spatial sound, featuring

Kristin Hoffmann (RainShine immersive album experience) with The Rise of Troy and David Bryen, DJ Kimyon & The Future is Now with live painting by Terry Fox, William Ruiz (Taino Drummer & Percussionist performs and provides instruments for a massive fireside drum circle), Ancestors and Glaciers (interactive immersive theatre experience created in collaboration with a melting glacier in vatnajökull Iceland), Astral Hands (celebrating their forthcoming album release), Whisp3rkick, Trans World Orchestra, Rhiannon Catalyst, Eastbrook Community Farm bringing locally-grown produce and permaculture wisdom, local artists, global peace ceremony, dance, skill sharing, community building, potluck dinner, and so much more. 

  • We gratefully acknowledge the original stewards of this land, the Lunaape, Haudenosaunee, Wyandott, Shawnee, Senaca Cayuga, and Mohawk peoples, and recognize their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. The story: For the past twenty years, a deeply dedicated artist named Michael Milton originally from Jamaica has been building a magical place in the Western Catskill Mountains. Since 2020, Rhiannon Catalyst and Paul Geluso have been helping take the vision to the next creative level as the three of us founded The Creative Hive to build space for intentional co-creation. Now it’s time to activate it further with our community, to share this magical place and canvas with dear friends and family, to co-create and dream into the future together. This is still just the beginning of our human story. ** This is a space for collaboration, collective visioning, and for healing in nature with art and community**

*This year we are opening the event to the public, primarily friends of friends, this year and being very intentional about our invitations. This will be mostly artists in attendance, built with people who have a positive presence, and intentionally kept small – about 100 people max for this family-style festival*

The location

  • 13 acres of lovingly stewarded land with a lake, mountains, forest, lush fields, apple orchard, choirs of frogs and birds
  • a beautiful 3.5 hr drive from NYC, largely through rural protected country farm land
  • Space for camping & bathrooms for public use
  • Parking available
  • Dedicated to community building, permaculture, and arts. Open for future visions, retreats, music events, rehearsals, immersive projects and collaborative co-creation
  • Bring coolers, additional shade, flashlight, and we have multiple buildings for you to explore and enjoy music and art within along with the outdoor areas

Core event details

A weekend-long family-style campout and experimental creative canvas, a hybrid immersive experience in collaboration with Unity Earth and the 99 Days of Peace, one day of this event will be globally broadcast live to create global synergy and co-creation with interactive creative elements and dialogues on our collective future along with scheduled performances and curated opportunities for improvisational co-creation. This is a chance for us to dream into our cultural future together, including:

  • Two spatial sound systems lovingly built and live mixed for your auditory pleasure. Gorgeous sound is at the heart of the vision for this space and mixed by a Grammy award-winning immersive sound expert
  • Projectors and scrims in a giant exposed beam dairy barn set up for experimental video art
  • This is a co-creative space open to experimentation and collaboration- a canvas for co-creation
  • Massive bonfire with acoustic jams and performances on Friday Night
  • Discussions about the future of our collective culture and the new more sustainable world we are creating together
  • Everyone is asked to respect a culture of leaving no trace, taking responsibility for ourselves as DIY culture is co-created, and we are here to support each other and be loving, peaceful, and cooperative. No hatred of any kind will be tolerated

Info and plans for Food and supporting local farmers:

  • *We’ll have a community potluck dinner on Saturday night at 5:30-7:30 pm, please bring or cook a dish to share! Our community dinner will include local produce and farmers from Eastbrook Community Farm– some food provided and supplemented by community sharing. All other meals are up to you!
  • *We’ll have 2 grills to use- one for veggies only, and one for veggies and meat
  • There is a farmstand next door to us with excellent eggs, milk, cheese, bread, yogurt and a few other things that’s walking distance from us (beautiful 10 min walk, just be careful if you do walk, no sidewalk)
  • Closest grocery stores: Tops in Stamford, NY and Price Chopper in Delhi (Price Chopper has a bigger selection, both are about 15-20 min from the site)
  • For anyone without cars, we’ll organize at least a couple of group food runs for people to go shop once you’re here

FRIDAY

3-6: Camp set up

6: Communal BBQ and small campfire with acoustic music and drums

6:30: Land acknowledgement, welcoming and thanks to the indigenous stewards of this land

Just after dark: We light the BIG bonfire

Fireside performances and surprises 

9-11: Drums and acoustic music

11-Late: Live electronic music and DJs

SATURDAY

Morning: Time in nature, time for yoga, meditation, conversation, listening to the sounds around us and connecting with nature. Foraging class & gardening

1pm- 5:30pm Music begins on the main stage (live, live electronic, live painting) 

5:30-7:30: Community potluck Dinner at the Carriage House with local farms, and grillmaster

7:30-7:45: We all go on an adventure together- follow the pied piper!

7:45-8:15: Live Immersive interactive theatre with Paul Geluso, Jeremy D. Slater, and RC

8:30-9:15: Kristin Hoffmann live RainShine Immmersive Experience 

9:30- Late: DJs and live electronic experiments with quad sound system #2

SUNDAY

Morning: Time in nature, time for yoga, meditation, conversation, connecting with the sounds and senses around us

12-2: Live electronic experimental performances

1:30-2:30: Roundtable interdisciplinary dialogue about the future of our collective culture, the Creative Hive, why we are here and where we are going

3-9pm: THE FUTURE IS NOW Global virtual Livestream broadcasting live from the brand new space in the big barn featuring dialogues, live DJs, and large-scale live painting led by Kimyon Huggins, Hubcast, in collaboration with Unity Earth and the 99 Days of Peace
